ABOUT 2ND LIFE LAVENDER

New Focus for High Desert Family Farm

They began with the goal of utilizing the same 8-acre hay field that Marvin grew up moving irrigation pipes in as a youth in the early 1960s. With hay being incredibly water intensive to grow, they wanted to pursue a more sustainable and economically viable crop. Considering a variety of options to adapt to the continuing reduction of water supply in the Central Oregon High Desert, they decided on Lavender.

After over a year of research and traveling around the state of Oregon they discovered Central Oregon was an ideal climate for cultivating Grosso Lavender plants. Starting with locally sourced certified organic plants they have designed an optimal ecosystem to produce high quality essential oil and hydrosol.
