One of the most exciting things about Hydroneer is that it requires almost no system-specific gear to play in a way that most games don't. But heck, that's not a bad thing, a lot of the best games are non-PC games.
The narrative in Hydroneer is remarkably detailed, especially since the complicated nature of its world demands that to be the case. Regardless of a lack in depth, Hydroneer is still an enjoyable game to play and it doesn't leave out anything in terms of gameplay elements or atmosphere. The story is told in a pretty well-rounded and unique way, and the environments are incredible, especially with the impressive landscapes that create when you start making a lot of voxels. Being able to make your own structures and machines work to your advantage also helps to make up for the sometimes lackluster storyline. The story is somewhat confusing at certain points, but it's so in-depth and other moments can be very touching. The narrative in Hydroneer is surprisingly fascinating, but it's also extremely overloaded. It certainly has its place, but the game's storylines weigh down the game in many different ways and its characters aren't really developed enough. Besides the lackluster story, Hydroneer's gameplay is pretty enjoyable, especially with the multiple ways in which you can play. It's a great puzzle game that allows you to make up your own gameplay style and can be easy to pick up and play for anyone.
Hydroneer puts a lot of focus on personal engineering, building things like machines and structures. This is a relaxing game and the relaxed gameplay is arguably the coolest thing about Hydroneer. A number of legendary machines and structures like the wheel, the wheel, the spear, gravity boots, the fountain, and more are able to be created and used, and they will allow you to bend the laws of physics to create something that doesn't exist in this universe. These creations are what make Hydroneer feel like such a life-changing game, and the immense amount of machines and structures available on planet earth to create is enough to make anyone drool. But even though everything is buildable, iron doesn't break which makes it easy to make some other crazy contraptions, most notably things tethered to the planet making any space travel impossible. d2c66b5586
