Wooten also credits the banjo for impressing upon him an appreciation for the musicianship of his fellow musicians. At summer camp, he got a taste of show business as a member of his band's stage show, while spending summers in his family's music camp.
Wooten said he's excited that this weekend's jam session is the last of a season of banjo jams that are part of his banjo camp. They're rehearsing for an upcoming concert at the New London School of Music, during which he'll perform with his band, the Carolina Banjo Band.
After getting his first guitar at age 5, Wooten's musical journey began in earnest. He said he learned to play a wide variety of instruments while growing up in New London. By age 10, he had taught himself to play the drums, which he still plays today.
Wooten said he was also helped by a friend who gave him a new perspective on the instrument. He said he sees a banjo as a similar instrument to the guitar: It can have metal strings or nylon strings, or the tension in the strings can be adjusted, and still make the same sounds.
He recalled playing with the Five Blind Boys of Alabama, an African-American men's harmony group that's been recording and touring since the 1920s. Their harmonies and 3-part vocal arrangements were a musical influence on his career, he said.
He also said he's excited for the next phase of his career. I'm going to start touring much more, he said. I've been doing a lot of that stuff on the road, but I want to do more of it.... I'm excited to share my music with more people, and I want to get out of my comfort zone and have some fun with it.
Fleck and Wooten, who have played on numerous projects together, met through Fiddler but they later reconnected at a festival when Fleck played with Wooten. They played together on the album The Way I Always Was, which was released in January 2012.
If another hacker does this, then they will be able to put any game on the ps3 in a matter of minutes! and that means that Sony will be out of the console market for good. We have seen what happens when sony doesn't support games anymore. Nintendo is turning a profit, now it is time for Sony to do the same, or else they are dead.
I don't see the appeal of owning a Sony PS3, and I don't see the value of the PS3 as an entertainment device. Sony has become one of the most untrustworthy companies in the gaming industry in my eyes. 827ec27edc
