There has been a lot of disruption in the better-for-you category leaving consumers overwhelmed. The launch of these two new flavors show our fans that we are listening and will continue to focus on being the lowest calorie, plant based frozen dessert available.
When I opened the first pint, it was solid as a rock but, throwing the pint in the microwave for 30 seconds to help it thaw a little, it was very scoop-able. Arctic Zero recommends thawing the pint on the counter for 15 minutes but, I was far too impatient to wait. The frozen dessert has a mousse consistency, rather than an ice cream consistency, which is due lack of milk and fat in regular ice cream that gives it the usual ice cream feel. But, overall, I found the mousse consistency very pleasant.
When I researched the brands reviews, there were a lot of reviews regarding their prior line of lactose-free pints. The reviewers were complaining that it lacked creaminess and had an Elsa level of iciness. I decided I wanted to see what the fan base was complaining about with the lactose-free pints, so I headed to my local grocery store and was able to score one on clearance (since retailers are stocking the new non-dairy pints.) Upon trying the prior formula, I immediately noticed its iciness and lack of flavor. Also, the ingredients contained Whey Protein, which is still a form of dairy, so these pints weren't fully dairy-free. The lactose-free pint was insanely disappointing. Arctic Zero has really stepped it up with their new non-dairy pints compared to the lactose-free ones. The new pints are 10x creamier than before and officially dairy-free. The Arctic Zero non-dairy frozen desserts are definitely a hidden gem among the grocery store aisles.
Ultimately, I found the flavors and consistency to be better than expected for such a low calorie frozen treat. What I found disappointing was that Arctic Zero doesn't carry a vanilla or fruitty (besides cherry chocolate chunk) flavor in their non-dairy frozen dessert line. They do however, have a vanilla flavor in their non-dairy frozen dessert bar line. I hope that in the future they expand their flavors to include a vanilla and strawberry. But all that aside, 40 calories for a 1/2 cup of an ice cream type treat That's insane! Sure the consistency isn't as creamy as real ice cream but, with Arctic Zero being coconut-free, nut-free, dairy-free and macro friendly, that was to be expected. I think the pros to this frozen dessert definitely outweigh the cons. Also, along with the non-dairy frozen desserts and non-dairy bars, they actually do carry a light ice cream which, you can read about here. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by Arctic Zero's non-dairy frozen desserts and will definitely be repurchasing.
For serving frozen desserts with the perfect creamy texture, we let them thaw out for 15 minutes before digging into each dessert, and as you might have guessed, everyone in our family came back for seconds.

Born in 2010, the frozen dessert company got its start when founder Greg Holtman noticed a lack of options for healthy sweet treats. Holtman remembers caring for his type1-diabetic mother and his family being unable to indulge in dessert, especially ice cream, because of all the artificial sweeteners and ingredients.
Tonight I found Arctic Zero, and I sliced a black bean brownie, and then put a little dollop of cream cheese icing (I first blend stevia to powder and mix with low fat cream cheese). I put the arctic Zero on my scale, weighing in ML, so I would weight 120 ML of Arctic zero. When I got to 100ML I stopped because it seemed like a lot.
The cookie dough arctic zero is awesome. I reach for it even when I'm \"allowing\" myself to splurge. The key lime, not so good. Very tart. I liked the buttery pecan as well, and the mint chip isn't bad.
I've found that the 'regular' flavors are quite good as long as they haven't melted and re-frozen. The tough part is making sure the ones you purchase haven't had that happen! They do promise a refund if you purchase one in the refrozen state, but it happens quite frequently (for me, at least), so there's a point where you can't really keep returning it to stores...That said, I'm a fan :)
Made from a fava bean base and free from wacky, stomach-wrecking sweeteners like sugar alcohol, Arctic Zero non-dairy frozen desserts are pretty much perfect. They're super creamy (magical, considering there's no dairy), not too sweet and delightfully flavorful. Even better They have way less fat and calories associated with non-dairy ice creams made from coconut, soy or nut milk.

SAN DIEGO, Calif., Aug. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Arctic Zero, the brand that revolutionized the low calorie, better-for-you ice cream category eight years ago, today introduced its new line of Arctic Zero Non-Dairy frozen desserts, designed to take the category forward for those with dairy-free diets. The brand has transformed its original lactose-free, whey-protein based frozen dessert to accommodate dairy-free diets with plant-based ingredients and a creamier, more satisfying taste experience. Nine delicious flavors of the new Arctic Zero Non-Dairy frozen desserts will begin appearing on grocers shelves this month, joining Arctic Zero Light Ice Cream in the freezer aisle.
\"We created the original Arctic Zero so that people with restrictions like lactose-intolerance, low-sugar and low-calorie diets could enjoy a delicious frozen dessert without junk ingredients like erythritol and other sugar alcohols,\" said Amit Pandhi. \"True to our founding promise, our new plant-based Arctic Zero Non-Dairy contains the cleanest, premium ingredients we could source including faba bean protein. We're confident our long-time fans also are going to love the change. Arctic Zero Non-Dairy pints have a much stronger, richer flavor that really wows and a creamier texture than ever.\"
\"Arctic Zero believes everyone should be able to enjoy great tasting, low-calorie ice cream and frozen desserts without consuming sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners,\" said Pandhi. \"Eating frozen desserts should be delightful and satisfying, not the cause of stomach upset or other side effects. Arctic Zero obsesses over our ingredients to provide the best-tasting, highest quality and most ethical products in the freezer aisle.\"
The makers of Arctic Zero started small, selling their no-fat, ice cream-like frozen dessert to natural food stores and independent grocers in Southern California. But they wanted to get in national chains. It took a year and a lot of traveling to get into Whole Foods. It took four years to get on Wal-Mart's shelves. 781b155fdc
